Jodie Emery Speaks to Thousands At Vancouver’s Cannabis/Canada Day

Jodie Emery, wife of Marc Emery the "Prince of Pot", speaks to thousands of people at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Canada Day July 1st, 2010, known as "Cannabis Day". Marc is imprisoned in the USA for a 5-year sentence on charges of selling seeds, but the REAL reason Marc is in prison is all political because he raised millions of dollars selling seeds to spend all the profits on the legalization movement. The DEA admitted on the day of Marc's arrest in 2005 (he was fighting extradition for a few years, then agreed to a plea deal to avoid a 30-year-to-life sentence) that he was targeted for being a political activist.

His marijuana trade and propagandist marijuana magazine have generated nearly $5 million a year in profits that bolstered his trafficking efforts, but those have gone up in smoke today. Emery and his organization had been designated as one of the Attorney General's most wanted international drug trafficking organizational targets — one of only 46 in the world and the only one from Canada. Hundreds of thousands of dollars of Emery's illicit profits are known to have been channeled to marijuana legalization groups active in the United States and Canada. Drug legalization lobbyists now have one less pot of money to rely on. |
